Let \(M\) be a complex manifold and \(\Omega\subset M\) an open dense subset with a pseudo-Kähler form \(\omega\) which cannot be smoothly extended to a larger open set. The paper provides examples where the corresponding Kähler-Poisson structure and a star-product with separation of variables on \((\Omega,\omega)\) admit smooth extentions to \(M\). The first example concerns a Levi-nondegenerate hypersurface in an open set \(U\subset\mathbb{C}^n\), a case treated by the author in [Contemp. Math. 450, 163--171 (2008; Zbl 1151.53077)]. The second example is derived from the Grassmanian of \(r\)-dimensional subspaces in \(\mathbb{C}^{p+r}\). Let \(M\) be a real \(n\)-dimensional manifold with a dense subset \(\Omega\) and let \(\pi\) be a Poisson bivector field on \(\Omega\) and \(\ast_\pi\) its corresponding \(\ast\)-product. The author proves that if the right (or left) \(\ast\)-multiplication operators on \(\Omega\cap U\) with respect to the functions of a formal frame \(U\subset M\), where \(U\) is a coordinate chart containing a fixed point \(a\in M/\Omega\), extend to smooth formal differential operators on \(U\), then so does the \(\ast\)-product. This result is then used to give another proof of this fact in the example of a Levi-nondegenerate hypersurface in \(U\subset\mathbb{C}^n\). In the last sections, the author uses the main result to provide a simple criterion for the existence of a smooth extension of a \(\ast\)-product and applies it to the examples treated earlier.
