The paper deals with a system comprising two charged particles on an infinitely long cylinder which interact through an attractive Coulomb potential, which can be considered as modeling the Hamiltonian of excitons in carbon nanotubes. The mathematical model is carefully defined, the spectral analysis if the Hamiltonian is performed, and some conclusions are outlined.
