The authors prove that \(-p(x, D)\), the pseudodifferential operator with symbol \[ -p(x, D) = -f(x, q(x, \xi)), \] extends to the generator of a Feller semigroup, for certain classes of negative definite symbols \(q(x, \xi)\) and the state space dependent Bernstein functions \(f(x, s)\). They also provide several illustrative examples.
