This paper deals mainly with ``preservation of duals'' by a functor. This property is well known in the case of strong monoidal functors. The authors introduce a weaker version, called ``Frobenius monoidal functor'', and prove that this kind of functor is enough for preservation. Some other nice properties of Frobenius functors are studied like composition closure, preservation of Frobenius algebras, and, in certain conditions, they can become algebras with comultiplication satisfying the Frobenius identities.
