Let \(M\) be a compact complex manifold endowed with a hyperkähler metric and \(X\) a closed complex analytic subset of \(M\). In ['Hyperkähler embeddings and holomorphic symplectic geometry'. II., GAFA 5, 92-104 (1995)] the author proved that \(X\) is trianalytic (i.e., complex analytic with respect to all complex structures induced by the hyperkähler structure) if \(M\) is generic in its deformation class. Here he studies the complex analytic deformations of trianalytic subvarieties and proves that all deformations of \(X\) are trianalytic and naturally isomorphic to \(X\) as complex analytic varieties, this isomorphism being compatible with the metric induced from \(M\). Also he shows that the Douady space of complex analytic deformations of \(X\) in \(M\) is equipped with a natural hyperkähler structure.
