Let \(M\) be a Hermitian symmetric domain, and let \(\Delta\) be a torsion-free cocompact lattice in \(\text{Aut} (M)\). Then the quotient manifold \(\Delta \backslash M\) has a unique structure of a complex projective variety \(Y_\Delta\), called a Shimura variety. Assuming that \(\Delta\) is an arithmetic congruence subgroup, \(Y_\Delta\) has a canonical structure of a variety defined over some number field \(E\). Let \(v\) be a prime of \(E\). The Shimura variety \(Y_\Delta\) is said to be \(p\)-adically uniformized if the \(E_v\)-analytic space \((Y_\Delta \otimes_E E_v)^{an}\) is isomorphic to \(\Delta \backslash \Omega\) for some \(E_v\) analytic symmetric space \(\Omega\) and some arithmetic group \(\Delta\) acting on \(\Omega\) properly discontinuously. In this paper, the author proves that certain Shimura varieties, uniformized by the product of complex unit balls, can be \(p\)-adically uniformized by the product of Drinfeld upper half spaces and their equivariant coverings, and he extends \(p\)-adic uniformization to automorphic vector bundles. The idea of the proof is to show that an arithmetic quotient of the product of Drinfeld upper half spaces is nothing else than a certain unitary Shimura variety. [For Part I, cf. Publ. Math., Inst. Haut Etud. Sci. 87, 57-119 (1998).
