The author considers the following situation: \(\pi: X \to C\) an elliptic fibration over a smooth projective curve \(C\) with a section \(\sigma\). Furthermore, all fibers are assumed to be irreducible. The class of a fiber of \(\pi\) is denoted by \(f\). Let \(r\) and \(d\) be coprime integers with \(r \geq 0\). The compactifaction of the moduli space of all stable vector bundles of rank \(r\) and degree \(d\) on fibers is isomorphic to \(X\) and is identified with the moduli space of all stable rank \(r\) sheaves on fibers with given Euler characteristic. The universal stable sheaf on \(X \times_C X\) is denoted by \({\mathcal E}\). We consider a polarization \(H\) on \(X\) which is of type \(\sigma + k \cdot f\) with \(k \gg 0\). For \(R,e \in {\mathbb Z}\) and \(c_1 \in \text{NS}(X)\), we denote by \(M_H(R,c_1,e)\) the moduli space of pure dimensional \(H\)-semistable sheaves \(G\) with the invariants \(\text{rk}(G)=R\), \(c_1(G)=c_1\), and \(\chi(G)=e\). All schemes are defined over \(\text{Spec}(\mathbb C)\). The Fourier-Mukai transform \({\mathcal F_{\mathcal E}}: D(X) \to D(X)\) is studied. In this article, it is applied to sheaves which satisfy the weak index theorem WIT\(_i\). One of the main results is theorem 3.13, which states that for certain choices of the above invariants, we obtain isomorphisms of moduli spaces when considering the twisted stability with respect to certain sheaves \(E_0\) and \(F_0\). This allows identification of moduli spaces of sheaves of positive rank with moduli spaces of one dimensional sheaves. This way theorem 3.16, which says that the Hodge polynomial of the moduli space \(M_X(R,c_1,e)\) equals the Hodge polynomial of \(\text{Pic}^0(X) \times \text{Hilb}^n_X\) is derived. Moreover, in the last section a construction of the moduli space of \(G\)-twisted semistable sheaves is given.
