The nonlinear low energy effective action for the dilatonic braneworld is derived. The bulk scalar field with a nontrivial potential and the brane tension coupled to the bulk scalar field are considered. The authors formulate the systematic low energy expansion scheme to solve the bulk equations and derive the effective 4-dimensional action for both the single-brane model and the two-brane model through the junction conditions. The effective action with Kaluza-Klein corrections is constructed and the role of the AdS/CFT correspondence is revealed.
