The author demonstrates the integrability of geodesic flows on ellipsoids by establishing their equivalence to a subsystem of integrable Euler equations on Lie algebras of the groups of motions of Euclidean spaces (the Clebsch case). The comment reports that it is established formerly by Kozlov that a geodesic flow on a two-dimensional ellipsoid is trajectory-equivalent to the restriction of the Clebsch system onto the Lie algebra of the group of motions of the three-space on a singular orbit diffeomorphic to the cotangent bundle to the two-sphere. The authors demonstrate in terms of Perelomov's article a generalization of this equivalence for geodesic flows on high-dimensional ellipsoids.
