This paper is both a tutorial in the frame theory, and a collection of open problems pointing to new directions for research. It covers the abstract Hilbert frame theory, Weyl-Heisenberg (also known as Gabor or windowed Fourier) frames, wavelet (or affine) frames and frames of translates. However the main focus of the paper is on Weyl-Heisenberg frames and results the author and others obtained on this topic. The author proposes also a number of open problems that may constitute interesting topics for future research.
