Let \(G\) be a semisimple Lie group and \(\Gamma\) an irreducible lattice. Using exponential decay of correlation coefficients of smooth functions on a homogeneous space \(G/\Gamma\) D. Sullivan's logarithmic law for geodesics is generalised and sharpened by specifying conditions on a sequence of subsets \(\{A_t |t \in N \}\) of \(G/ \Gamma\) and a sequence of elements \(f_t\) of \(G\) under which \(\sharp \{t \in N |f_t x \in A_t\}\) is infinite for each \(x \in G/\Gamma\).
