This paper is about cyclic (co)homology of Hopf algebras, as introduced by \textit{A. Connes} and \textit{H. Moscovici} [Commun. Math. Phys. 198, No. 1, 199-246 (1998; Zbl 0940.58005)]; see also [\textit{M. Crainic}, J. Pure Appl. Algebra 166, No. 1-2, 29-66 (2002; Zbl 0999.19004)]. Let \(\mathcal H\) be a Hopf algebra over a commutative ring \(k\), \(\sigma\in{\mathcal H}\) a group-like element, and \(\delta\colon{\mathcal H}\to k\) a character such that \(\delta(\sigma)=1\). From these data, a cyclic module \(\widetilde{\mathcal H}^{(\delta,\sigma)}\) is constructed; furthermore, a related characteristic map for Hopf comodule algebras is defined. The corresponding cyclic homology is computed when \(\mathcal H\) is cocommutative, or if \(\mathcal H\) is either of the quantum groups \(U_q(sl(2))\) or \(C_q[sl(2)]\).
