The main result of the paper is the construction of an infinite family of \((q+1)\)-regular Ramanujan graphs \(X_n\) of girth 1. Covering maps \(X_{n+1} \mapsto X_n\) are also given such that the minimal common covering of all the \(X_n\)'s is the universal covering tree. The construction relies heavily on that of \textit{A. Lubotzky, R. Phillips} and \textit{P. Sarnak} [Combinatorica 8, 261-277 (1988; Zbl 0661.05035)].
