The authors consider compact complex Kähler manifolds with negative holomorphic sectional curvature. Let \(M\) be a compact complex Kähler manifolds with negative holomorphic sectional curvature. If \(M\) is a smooth projective threefold, they show that its canonical bundle \(K_M\) is ample. For a smooth projective manifold \(M\) of dimension higher than three and the essential dimension or the Albanese dimension of \(M\) is greater than dim\(M-4\), they show that its canonical bundle \(K_M\) is ample. Without the Albanese dimension restriction, that is, if \(M\) is a smooth projective manifold with a Kähler metric of negative holomorphic sectional curvature, then they show that the nef dimension of \(M\) is equal to the dimension of \(M\). They use both differential and algebraic geometry machinery to prove these theorems.
