The authors obtain the Poisson brackets for some classes of mappings deduced from general periodic reductions for integrable lattice equations. These brackets are obtained from a Lagrangian via the Ostrogradsky transformation. Firstly, the general notions are given: the completely integrable map and the approach used to obtain the Ostrogradsky transformation; the \((q,-p)\) reduction \((q,-p)\) to obtain the ordinary difference equations from the lattice equations. Then the main results follow: Poisson brackets for \((q,-p)\) reductions of the Korteweg-de Vries (KdV) and plus KdV equations, then for the Lotka-Volterra equations and Liouville equation.
