Let \(Y\) be a 3-dimensional projective Calabi-Yau variety. Consider the moduli space \(I_n(Y,\beta)\) of ideal sheaves \(\mathcal{I}_Z\) such that the dimension of \(Z\) is 1, the holomorphic Euler characteristic of \(\mathcal{I}_Z\) is \(n\), and \([Z]=\beta \in H_2(Y)\). Assume we have as representative of \(\beta\) an effective cycle \(C=d_1 C_1 + \dots + d_s C_s\) whose components \(C_i\) are disjoint smooth super-rigid (i.e. \(N_{C_i / Y}=\mathcal{O}(-1)\oplus \mathcal{O}(-1)\)) rational curves. It defines a component \(J_n(Y,C)\) of \(I_n(Y,\beta)\) corresponding to all subschemes \(Z\subset Y\) whose associated cycle is \(C\). The degree of the virtual class of \(J_n\) is called the contribution of \(C\) to the Donaldson-Thomas invariant \(N_n(Y,\beta)\): \[ N_n(Y,C)=\deg [J_n(Y,C)]^{\text{vir}}. \] The authors compute this contribution using weighted Euler characteristics introduced by \textit{K. Behrend} [Donaldson-Thomas type invariants via microlocal geometry. \url{arXiv: math.AG/0507523}, to appear in Ann. Math.]. As an application, they are able to show the Gromov-Witten and Donaldson-Thomas correspondence, introduced by \textit{D. Maulik, N. Nekrasov, A. Okounkov} and \textit{R. Pandharipande} [Compos. Math. 142, No. 5, 1263--1285 (2006; Zbl 1108.14046)], for super-rigid curves as well as in full degree \(\beta\).
