Summary: We study the approximate coincidence point of two nonlinear functions introduced by \textit{M. A. Geraghty} in [Proc. Am. Math. Soc. 40, 604--608 (1973; Zbl 0245.54027)] and \textit{N. Mizoguchi} and \textit{W. Takahashi} (\(\mathcal{MT}\)-function) in [J. Math. Anal. Appl. 141, No.~1, 177--188 (1989; Zbl 0688.54028)].
