The authors unify the saturation and direct-converse theorems for a steady rate of convergence in \(L_ p[0,1]\), \(1<p<\infty\) by Kantorovich- Bernstein polynomials defined by \[ K_ n(f;x)=(n+1)\sum^{\infty}_{k=0}{n\choose k}x^ k(1-x)^{n- k}\int^{(k+1)/(n+1)}_{k/(n+1)}f(u)du. \] The case \(p=1\) is dealt in a different manner. Further, they claim that converse results are an improvement on weak type converse theorems and strong-weak type converse theorems available in the literature.
