In this paper a new macro-model for miscible displacement in porous media is derived from a micro-model via a homogenization technique. Numerical and qualitative comparisons with two other macro-models are performed. The study of the fundamental solutions of the ODE problems obtained by neglecting the spatial derivatives in the equations reveals the essential differences between the three models. The author also presents numerical schemes for the models and determines, in the frame of the macro-model that he has introduced, the numerical values of the concentration in a certain points as a function of time.
