The author considers a pair of integral equations of convolution type whose kernels belong to different weighted \(L_ 1(-\infty,\infty)\)-type Banach algebras, and establishes results concerning their solvability, the Noether character of the operator defined by the equations, representation formulas for the solutions and the resolvent kernel, and formulas for the computation of the characteristic and the index of the operator.
