The authors consider the evolutionary motion of surfaces by their mean curvature [see \textit{K. A. Brakke}, The motion of a surface by its mean curvature (1978; Zbl 0386.53047)]. They study the non-parametric case [see \textit{G. Huisken}, J. Differ. Equations 77, 369-378 (1989; Zbl 0686.34013)], assuming, that the surface is rotationally symmetric and show that it develops a singularity under suitable initial conditions.
