Finite Figueroa planes can be constructed for orders \(q^ 3\) from Desarguesian planes of the same order admitting a planar collineation of order 3. If \(q\) is odd, ovals can be constructed in these planes (called Ovali di Roma) by modifying the incidences of a conic in the Desarguesian plane which is invariant under the planar collineation, in accordance with the modifications forming the Figueroa plane. The construction of the planes does not require finiteness, but the proof of the oval construction does. This paper rectifies the situation by showing that the Ovali di Roma are also ovals in the infinite case (provided that the field over which the Pappian plane is defined does not have characteristic 2). The author also proves that there exists a polarity of the Figueroa plane whose absolute points are the points of this oval.
