This paper is devoted to the proof of a technical theorem regarding the computation of the (p,q)-summing norm of an operator in ``finite dimensional'' terms. From this follows in a unified fashion other results due to Szarek, Pelczynski, and Tomczak-Jaegermann, as well as generalizations of other well-known results in this area.
