The authors give a theorem on the Hermite-Fejér interpolation of \(f\in C[-1,1]\) in weighted \(L_ p\)-metric. Recently a study involving the even order Hermite-Fejér interpolating polynomials has been done by \textit{P. Vértesi} [Acta Math. Hung. 54, No. 1/2, 135-152 (1989; Zbl 0703.41004) and ibid. 56, No. 3/4, 369-379 (1990; Zbl 0743.41011)] and \textit{P. Vértesi} and \textit{Y. Xu} [Stud. Sci. Math. Hung. 24, No. 4, 391-401 (1989; Zbl 0715.41004)]. Over here the authors extend some results of P. Vértesi involving Hermite-Fejér polynomials of all integral orders. They have also shown that in the case of odd order polynomials one of the conditions in their main theorem cannot be essentially relaxed.
