    We consider the Walsh orthonormal system \(\{w_ k(x):\;k=0,1,\dots\); \(x\in[0,1)\}\) in the Paley enumeration. Given a function \(f\in L^ 1[0,1)\), we study the \(L^ 1\)-convergence behavior of the Walsh-Fourier series (1) \(\sum a_ kw_ k(x)\), where \(a_ k=\int^ 1_ 0 f(x)w_ k(x)dx\). Denote by \(s_ n(f,x)\) the \(n\)th partial sum of series (1), \(D_ n(x)=\sum_{k=0}^ n w_ k(x)\) the Walsh-Dirichlet kernel, and \(\Delta a_ k=a_ k-a_{k+1}\). In part I [Rend. Circ. Mat. Palermo, II. Ser. 38, No. 3, 411-418 (1989; Zbl 0683.42007)], we proved that if \[ \lim_{\lambda\downarrow1} \limsup_{n\to\infty}\sum_{k=n}^{[\lambda n]} k^{p-1}|\Delta a_ k|^ p=0,\tag{2} \] for some \(p>1\), then \(\lim_{n\to\infty}\int^ 1_ 0| s_ n(f,x)-f(x)| dx=0\) if and only if \(\lim_{n\to\infty}a_ n\int_ 0^ 1| D_ n(x)| dx=0\). Now, we prove the same conclusion under the weaker condition that the left-hand side of (2) is only finite.
