The authors consider Lagrange interpolation of non-periodic functions by entire functions of exponential type \(\tau>0\) in the points \(x_{\tau,k}:={k\pi\over \tau}\) \((k=0,\pm 1,\pm 2,\dots)\). Let \(f: \mathbb{R}\to\mathbb{C}\) be Riemann integrable over every finite interval. To \(f\) one associates \[ L_ \tau(f;z):=\sum^{+\infty}_{-\infty} f(x_{\tau,k}) g_{\tau,k}(z), \] where \[ g_{\tau,k}(z):=\begin{cases} {\sin \tau(z-x_{\tau,k})\over\tau(z-x_{\tau,k})}, &\text{if \(z\neq x_{\tau,k}\)},\\ 1, &\text{if \(z=x_{\tau,k}\)}.\end{cases} \] Let \(p>1\), the authors then show that if, for some \(\delta>0\), \(f(x)=O((| x|+1)^{-\delta-1/p})\), then \[ \left(\int^{+\infty}_{-\infty} | f(x)-L_ \tau(f;x)|^ p dx\right)^{1/p}\to 0 \] as \(\tau\to\infty\).
