Exact controllability of the Euler-Bernoulli plate via bending moments only on the space of optimal regularity (Q1197418): Difference between revisions

The controllability of the Euler-Bernoulli equation with control action in the bending moments is considered. The boundary control takes the form \(\Delta w+(1-\mu)Bw=u\) on one part of the boundary, where \(Bw=-k(\partial w/\partial v)\). Using a new controllability inequality, it is shown that the system is controllable on spaces of maximum regularity. The proof is based on new regularity estimates for the traces of the solutions to the perturbed plate equation.
