Extending a result of D. Kramer as well as continuing his own extensive research on line transversals, the author shows that if \(K\) is a family of compact convex sets in \(E^ 2\) such that every three of its members admit a common line transversal, then \(K\) can be stabbed by four lines. Kramer's result was a stabbing number of five.
