The author presents a numerical method to evaluate the Fourier-Bessel integral that appears in the study of elastic waves in vertically inhomogeneous elastic or visco-elastic half-space. The improper double integral involves oscillatory and discontinuous integrand possessing a simple pole on the path of integration. Some examples have been given to compare the results with other methods. The comparison highlights the reliability of the use of Fourier-Bessel integral to obtain seismograms for the flat and vertically inhomogeneous earth model.
