In this very interesting and useful paper, the authors have worked out a sufficient set of conditions of convergence of the double Mellin-Barnes' type of contour integral which is a definition of the general H-function of two variables [\textit{R. G. Buschman}, Indian J. Math. 20, 132-153 (1978; Zbl 0415.33002)]. Three consequences of the main result have also been discussed. Finally, six examples have been provided to illustrate some of the various types of regions of convergence which occur in the study. If other sets of sufficient conditions of convergence of the double Mellin-Barnes integral considered here for various types of contours are also worked out on some later date, it will indeed enrich the further study of the H-functions.
