The problem of vortex sheets is a Cauchy problem for Euler equation in three dimensions when the initial datum is a 3-vector with a vortex the coefficients of which are defined on compact sets. A useful technique to analyze the existence of solutions to such problems is to regularize the initial data and to build up a sequence \(v(\varepsilon)\), \(\varepsilon\in]0,1]\), of solutions for the Euler system corresponding to these regularized data, and then to consider the limit \(v\) of \(v(\varepsilon)\). The main purpose of the paper is to show that, in this point of view, the problem is completely different in two dimensions and in three dimensions. While a weak convergence is sufficient in \(\mathbb{R}^ 2\) to obtian the solution, in \(\mathbb{R}^ 3\) the strong convergence is required.
