Using a thermodynamical internal state variable theory, the authors develop a phenomenological model for elastic superconductors that accounts for the influence of elastic deformation on London's penetration depth, the coherence length and the critical field. The internal variable is chosen to be the wave function of the superelectron, which corresponds to the order parameter in Ginzburg-Landau theory of superconductivity.
