We consider commutative rings \(A\) of generalized power series, having coefficients in a ring \(R\) and exponents in a partially strictly ordered additive monoid \(S\). In another paper [cf. J. Pure Appl. Algebra 79, No. 3, 293-312 (1992; Zbl 0761.13007)] we proved that if \(R\) is noetherian and \(S\) is narrow and generated by its invertible elements and finitely many non-invertible elements, then \(A\) is a noetherian ring. In this paper, we give an algorithm to construct a standard basis for each ideal of \(A\). The method holds in particular for the rings of Laurent series or of power series in several variables, with various orders on monomials, as well as in many other cases; special cases were given by Hironaka and Becker.
