    The authors extend the classical inequality \[ \int_ I | y^{(k)} |^ p dx \leq \varepsilon \int_ I | y^{(n)} |^ p dx+K (\varepsilon) \int_ I | y |^ pdx \] where \(I \subseteq \mathbb{R}\), \(1\leq p<\infty\) by replacing \(y^{(n)}\) with an \(n\)-th order quasi- differential operator and \(y^{(k)}\) by the corresponding \(k\)-th quasi- derivative for \(0 \leq k<n\). As a special case, they obtain the inequality \[ \int_ I | y^{(k)} |^ p udx \leq \varepsilon \int_ I | y^{(n)} |^ p vdx+K(\varepsilon)\int_ I | y |^ p wdx \] for \(1\leq p<\infty\) and for real weight functions \(u,v,w\) satisfying the condition \(u \geq 0\), \(v,w>0\), \(u \in L^ 1(I)\), \(v^{- p'/p} \in L^ 1(I)\) if \(1<p<\infty\); \(v^{-1} \in L^ \infty(I)\) if \(p=1\).
