Let \(\alpha\geq 1\) be a real number and let \(\tau_ \alpha(n)\) be the number of divisors \(d\) of \(n\) of the form \(d= [\alpha m]\), where \(m\) is an integer. The author investigates the asymptotic behaviour of the sum \(\sum_{n\leq x} \tau_ \alpha (n)\) for large \(x\), provided that \(\alpha\) is an irrational number.
