The author considers numerical methods and their analysis for the approximate solution of the time-dependent Ginzburg-Landau equation. Spatial discretization is implemented by a semi-discrete Galerkin finite element method, and a backward Euler scheme is used for the temporal discretization. The asymptotic behaviour of the approximation and its uniqueness are analyzed, error estimates are given.
