The author investigates the spectral properties of circulant block matrices and shows that any eigenvalue problem for a circulant block matrix can be reduced to a number of eigenvalue problems of reduced dimension. The author also gives an algorithm for solving linear equations with diagonalizable circulant block matrices. The nondiagonalizable case and numerical cases are also investigated.
