    It is shown how the structure of group extensions can be presented in the fibre bundle formalism, with a passive group as base and an active group as standard fibre. It is demonstrated how the so-called factor system, which defines the extension, depends on the choice of the fibre bundle section. The ideas are illustrated by a (finite) crystallographic group.
