A network is investigated composed of a main system and a supporting sub- system with \(N\) components with independent and identically distributed exponential lifetimes. There is one repair facility for failed components with exponentially distributed repair times. The main system is subject to shocks. Shock arrivals and magnitudes depend on the already accumulated damage level and the number of functioning components. Upon system-failure, it is replaced and all failed components are immediately repaired. State-age replacement policies are investigated with respect to a long-run average cost.
