    The paper deals with the following version of the mean value theorem: for each continuous real valued function \(f\) defined on the unit interval there exists a unique function \(k: [0,1] \to\mathbb{R}\) such that for \(0\leq k(x) <x\), \(x\cdot f(k(x))= \int_ 0^ x f(t)dt\); if \(k(x)<t\leq x\), then \(x\cdot f(t)\neq \int_ 0^ x f(t)dt\). The main result of the paper is the following theorem: If \(e^{-1}\leq s\leq 1\), then there is a continuous function \(f: [0,1]\to \mathbb{R}\) such that \(\lim_{x\to 0} (x^{-1}\cdot k(x))=s\) and for arbitrary continuous function \(\limsup_{x\to 0} (x^{-1}\cdot k(x))\geq e^{-1}\).
