    Let \(P_ 1,\dots,P_ k\) be \(k\) generic points in \({\mathbb{P}}^ 2\), and \(C\) be a reduced and irreducible curve of degree \(d\) with \(\text{mult}_{P_ i}(C) = m_ i\). We show that \(d \geq {\sqrt{k - 1}\over k} \sum^ k_{i = 1} m_ i\). As an application to the symplectic packing problem, we deduce that one can find a symplectic embedding of the standard 4-dimensional ball \(B^ 4\) by \(k\) equal standard balls for every \(k\), so that the volume filled by such embedding is \((1 - {1\over k})\text{Volume}(B^ 4)\).
