Regular equations on the constraint variables are established for LQ and nonlinear control problems and the application of the variational principle in constrained control systems is discussed. An LQ control problem with linear constraint and a nonlinear control problem with general constraint are considered. Finally, an example is given for verifying the conclusions of previous sections.
