The authors describe a procedure based on the decomposition method developed by them previously [see \textit{G. Adomian}, \textit{R. Rach}, and \textit{R. E. Meyers}, Kybernetes 20, No. 7, 24-34 (1991; Zbl 0744.65039) and \textit{G. Adomian}, Nonlinear stochastic operator equations (1986; Zbl 0609.60072)] which allows quantitative solutions of oscillator equations with quite general nonlinear terms determined experimentally. The general idea of the method is illustrated with a Van der Pol equation.
