Moments of Dirichlet splines and their applications to hypergeometric functions (Q1344289): Difference between revisions

The authors prove a recurrence formula for the Dirichlet averages of multivariate functions. They use this result to derive basic recurrence formulas for the moments of multivariate Dirichlet splines. An algorithm for computing the moments of multivariate simplex splines is also presented. Applications to hypergeometric functions of several variables, including Appell's \(F_4\) and Lauricella's \(F_B\) functions, are discussed.
