Solution of nonlinear diffusion appearing in image smoothing and edge detection (Q1891032): Difference between revisions

The paper deals with the numerical approximation of a nonlinear diffusion equation which has been proposed to solve problems in the theory of signal filtering, edge detection and image restoration. The main contribution is based on Rothe's approximation in time and on a finite element approach in space. The convergence is proved.
