The authors discuss the non-commutative geometry approach of Connes and Lott to mathematically modeling the fundamental interactions of elementary particle physics. They restrict themselves to the case that the total algebra is the tensor product of a finite-dimensional internal algebra and the infinite-dimensional algebra of spacetime functions. The general features of such models are (vaguely) discussed, and comparison with the traditional Yang-Mills-Higgs approach is made.
