The authors consider certain equations of the form \({d \over dt} (x(t) + \rho x (t - \tau)) = x(t)\) \(G(x(t), x(t - \tau))\) \((\sigma > 0, \;0 \leq \rho < 1,\;G(x,y)\) a real continuously differentiable function) as models for any single species populations. Sufficient conditions concerning positivity and boundedness of the solutions, local and global stability of positive steady state are established.
