The author studies inner inclusions having certain extremal properties of the solution set of linear algebraic systems involving interval coefficients. The method uses extended interval arithmetic (in the sense of E. Kaucher and E. Gardenes) and involves the interval algebraic solutions of a corresponding interval system with a ``dual'' interval matrix, that is a matrix whose interval entries have reverse components. An iterative method for finding interval algebraic solutions is also discussed.
