The author considers a method recently developed by \textit{S. Kumar} and \textit{I. H. Sloan} [Math. Comput. 48, 585-593 (1987; Zbl 0616.65142)] in which the result of transforming nonlinear boundary value problems to an integral equation formulation is then solved by a collocation type method. In particular, the authors develop a posteriori error estimates using a computer algebra system. The note is concluded by some remarks involving the extension of the proposed method to multidimensional problems.
