    Dies ist der zweite Artikel in einer Reihe von Arbeiten der Autoren zu spektralen Multiplikator-Operatoren auf ``Heisenberg-artigen'' Gruppen; der erste ist in [Invent. Math. 119, 199-233 (1995; Zbl 0857.43012)] erschienen. Hier werden Operatoren auf Gruppen vom \(H\)-Typ untersucht; dies sind gewisse zweistufige nilpotente Liesche Gruppen mit einer zusätzlichen Struktur; typische Beispiele sind die nilpotenten Teile in einer Iwasawaschen Zerlegung einer einfachen Lieschen Gruppe vom Rang 1. Ist nun \({\mathcal L}\) der in diesem Zusammenhang übliche Sublaplace-Operator und \(U_1,\dots,U_n\) eine orthonormale Basis des Zentrums der einschlägigen Lieschen Algebra, so ist es ein Ziel der Arbeit, die Beschränktheit des Operators \(m({\mathcal L}, U_1, \dots, U_n)\) auf \(L^p\), \(1<p < \infty\), für passende Funktionen \( m\) auf \(\mathbb{R}^{n+1}\) nachzuweisen. In der Tat werden minimale Differenzierbarkeitseigenschaften von \(m\) angegeben, ausgedrückt durch die Endlichkeit gewisser Sobolevscher Normen, welche \(L^p\)-Beschränktheit gewährleisten. Als eine Konsequenz unter mehreren anderen erhält man die \(L^p\)-Beschränktheit von Projektoren auf gewisse Eigenräume, welche im Heisenbergschen Falle von Strichartz mit anderen Methoden (explizite Darstellungen) bewiesen wurde.
